An x-ray of a woman's hand made the news recently: The blades of an immersion blender were embedded in her flesh.
A chickpea became caught in one of the blades and instead of removing it after turning off the blender, the 34-year-old woman kept the blender on, the U.K. newspaper the Daily Mail reported on 14 August.
The x-ray image was first shared on Figure 1, an app and website where doctors share medical images and canvass their colleagues' opinions.
Instead of losing a finger, the woman left the hospital with a torn nail, and she asked to take the blender with her, the Daily Mail reported.
