The U.K. National Institute for Health and Care Research is working with Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre in London on a three-year scheme to encourage more radiographers into research.

The scheme aims to stimulate, inspire, and guide radiographers to engage in and lead research projects by identifying the barriers they face and by highlighting best practice and possible solutions. In addition, funds will help create a radiographer-specific programme of research development opportunities, such as mentoring and career guidance, and will establish a national community of radiographers interested in research.

The plan is one of ten nationally established projects with the aim of addressing areas where there is a need to build research capacity across the U.K.

Further details are available in a press release issued by the Society of Radiographers.
