Siemens unveils 60M euro education facility

Siemens Healthineers has opened a new education and development center in Erlangen, Germany. It took three years and 60 million euros to build.

The 11,000-sq-m center took three years offers space for up to 240 trainees participating in integrated degree programs focused on IT, electronics, and business administration, according to the company. The center contains 10 MRI scanners, two angiography systems, and a photon-counting CT scanner. In addition, five large training rooms offer space for virtual courses with cameras and state-of-the-art transmission technology, Siemens said.

In September, 185 new apprentices and dual students will start their training at Siemens Healthineers, with 120 of them to be located in Erlangen and at facilities in nearby Forchheim, according to the firm.
