Siemens Healthineers said it will construct a new 25-million-euro manufacturing plant at its production site in Rudolstadt, Germany.
The new 2,100-square-meter manufacturing plant will produce components for radiotherapy devices and will create 50 new jobs over the next five years, with ground-breaking expected in mid-2024, Siemens said. Specifically, the plant will produce electron accelerators that will be used as radiation sources for Varian cancer therapy devices.
The new building will be built in a CO2-neutral manner and operated as sustainably as possible, Siemens noted.
