The European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) are highlighting research that has emerged from eight 2020's Seed Grant medical imaging projects and is now coming to a close.
The projects addressed artificial intelligence (AI) and cardiac imaging, and their results were presented this year at the European Congress of Radiology meeting in Vienna. The goal of the grants is to offer financial, advisory, and networking support for new medical imaging projects and pilot studies, according to the two organizations.
The ESR is now engaged in selecting awardees for a second round of seed grants which will again be focused on artificial intelligence (including quantitative imaging and radiomics) and interventional oncologic radiology, it said. The society has received 99 applications. This round of grants will be funded by GE Healthcare, according to the ESR.
