Prof. Stephen Keevil, PhD, will become the new president of the British Institute of Radiology (BIR) on 1 October.
Keevil is head of medical physics at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, leading a team of almost 200 staff, and he is also professor of medical physics at King's College London. He will replace Dr. Sri Redla, who is stepping down after two years in office.
Keevil served as president of the U.K. Radiological Congress (UKRC) in 2012-2013. Between 2013 and 2015, he was president of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, the U.K.'s professional body for physicists, engineers, and technologists within the field of medicine.
