Retired radiographer Winifred Jacqueline Grant, 89 -- known as "Jackie" -- died on 10 April 2022 at Royal Preston Hospital, U.K., after falling near her home while delivering Easter cards, an inquest heard last week.
According to a report by the Mail newspaper (previously known as the North-West Evening Mail), Jackie was spotted lying face down by a neighbour who called for an ambulance. Her cause of death was given as hematoma.
Jackie was born in Stockport, near Manchester, and trained as a radiographer and worked at Stepping Hill Hospital. In 1956, she met Roger Grant. The couple had four children together, as well as 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The report said the couple moved to Grange in their retirement and continued to enjoy life walking around the Lakes and spending time abroad.
