Radiologist Dr. Gloria Gómez Mardones and her colleagues have received recognition during a special ceremony to mark the completion of an extension and new emergency service facilities at the Niño Jesús Children's University Hospital in Madrid.
Mardones received a plaque for her role in the project from head of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso. Also on hand during the ceremony were the minister of health, Dr. Ruiz Escudero, and general directors and managers of several local hospitals. Also, several patients took part, and they expressed their appreciation for care they had received in different hospitals in Madrid.
"This award is another acknowledgment of radiology and the professionals dedicated to imaging diagnosis and treatment that fill all professionals in this specialty with pride," the Spanish Society of Medical Radiology (SERAM) stated in a news release issued on 17 May.
