Perth Royal Infirmary as NHS Tayside announced it is doubling the number of CT scans it performs to work through a backlog resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Daily Record has reported.

The health board has set up an additional mobile CT unit at Perth Royal Infirmary (PRI), where a bulk of the scans will be performed. Patients from all over NHS Tayside, including Angus and Dundee, will be offered appointments on weekends and evenings while the health board works its way through the backlog.

The health board told the Perthshire Advertiser the mobile unit will be at PRI until at least 31 March 2022.
