U.K.-based teleradiology firm Medica Group plans to acquire Global Diagnostics Ireland (GDI) from Centric Health for 16 million euros.
This acquisition falls in step with Medica's strategy announced in March 2020 to diversify revenue sources outside the U.K., to continue to further its market leadership position in teleradiology, and to expand into new areas of telemedicine. The purchase is expected to enhance Medica's earnings by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2021, according to the company.
Medica and GDI have radiologists who are certified in Ireland and the U.K., offering the potential for cross-reporting studies.
