The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the French Society of Nuclear Medicine (Société Française de Médecine Nucléaire, SFMN) have agreed on a framework for enhanced cooperation in the area of nuclear medicine. The arrangement covers a period of three years from 2020 to 2023.

The deal supports future cooperation and research in the areas of nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, or any allied disciplines, particularly for professionals from French-speaking countries, the groups said. It also allows for mentorship, networking, building remote or virtual training systems, and the use and development of software platforms and data management between the groups.

The arrangement is only the latest development of collaboration between the IAEA and SFMN that has spanned more than a decade, the two organizations stated in a press release.
