In a novel initiative, the authorities in Taipei are planning to use prize scratch cards to encourage women to take part in breast and cervical cancer screening from the start of August, according to a report in the Taipei Times.
The scratch cards will be available to eligible female residents from 1 August to 30 November 2020, stated the article. Those who can join the lottery include the following:
- Women with a household registry in Taipei between the ages of 45 and 69
- Women between 40 and 44 that have a second-degree family member who had breast cancer and have not received a mammogram last year or this year
In addition, female residents between the ages of 30 and 70 who are sexually active and have not received a pap smear between 2018 and 2020 are also eligible, the Taipei Times reported.
