Clinicians at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in collaboration with Imperial College London in the U.K., have created 3D-printed anatomical models based on medical images to support medical education, according to a report from News Medical.
Thanks to the joint effort by both institutions, students at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine in Singapore have access to 3D-printed models with colors and texture resembling properties of the real human body.
The groups are additionally exploring the possibility of offering the medical students a mobile app that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to display animated virtual 3D models.
