U.K. teleradiology services firm Medica Group reported increased revenue for the first half of 2017.
In unaudited results for the six-month period (end-30 June), the company's revenue increased to 1.57 million pounds (1.77 million euros) from 1.3 million pounds (1.5 million euros), a 17% increase compared with the prior year's period.
Per firm, NightHawk continued to see significant growth, with revenue increasing by 18.6% to 7.7 million pounds (8.7 million euros). Cross Sectional saw a revenue increase of 23.3% to 5.8 million pounds (6.6 million euros). However, Plain Film revenue fell by 8.3% to 1.8 million pounds (2 million euros), reflecting strategy to focus on NightHawk and Cross Sectional, according to Medica.
In addition, specialist services and independent revenue increased by 47.6% to 400,000 pounds (451,000 euros).
Medica added 19 radiologists in the period, taking the total to 267 contracted radiologists (including radiographers and rheumatologists) as of 30 June. The company said it remains confident in Medica's long-term prospects and is on track to meet market expectations.
