Radiation oncology firm Varian Medical Systems has signed an agreement with Vijametech and UPMC to develop plans for radiation oncology centers in Vietnam.
They are collaborating with the Vietnam Ministry of Health and the Vietnam National Cancer Hospital to develop, deploy, manage, and service advanced cancer treatment technologies in outpatient cancer centers in Vietnam over the next two years.
In 2015, Varian launched the Access to Care program to help increase the number of qualified staff to plan and deliver treatments around the world. Vietnam was one of the first countries to participate in the program. Varian experts led students from oncology centers in the country through a comprehensive educational curriculum, according to the firm.
