Ion Beam Applications (IBA) is showcasing its Cyclone Kiube cyclotron this week at the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) conference in San Diego.
A 18-MeV cyclotron, Cyclone Kiube has a production capacity that can be increased step by step to reach 20 Ci of F-18 in a two-hour run, according to the vendor. IBA is also emphasizing the system's self-shielding option and its small footprint of less than 1,070 sq ft.
IBA said it has shipped the first Cyclone Kiube to University Hospital Brussels in Belgium.
