CT scanner damaged in Kenya

The governor of Meru, Kenya, is blaming opponents of his administration for the destruction of a CT scanner at a local hospital.

According to a 25 April report by Standard Media, it is unknown at this time who damaged the device at the Meru Referral and Teaching Hospital, but Gov. Peter Munya is pointing fingers at people who want his administration to fail. Estimates are that it could cost 400,000 shillings (3,500 euros) to repair the scanner.

The report also noted that the same perpetrators uprooted the hospital's sewage system.
