Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has received clearance from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (FDA) to market its ProBeam proton therapy system.
Varian's ProBeam technology is currently used in facilities in the U.S., Germany, and Switzerland. It is the first such system to receive Saudi FDA medical devices marketing authorization, according to the company.
Varian said it also has contracts for system installation at 13 other sites around the world.
