ITG gets approval for gallium-68 generator

German firm Isotope Technologies Garching (ITG) has received manufacturing authorization from the regional government of Upper Bavaria for its gallium-68 (Ga-68)/germanium-68 (Ge-68) generator.

Received in December 2014, the approval enables ITG to provide a metal-free, pharmaceutical-grade Ga-68 generator in support of a growing market of PET imaging procedures that use Ga-68-labeled tracers, according to the firm.
