GE Healthcare has received the CE Mark for its Signa PET/MR system.
The system features GE's MR-compatible silicon photomultiplier detector (SiPM) technology, with National Electrical Manufacturing Association sensitivity of 21 cps/kBq. The compact digital detector can also enable time-of-flight acquisition and reconstruction, according to the vendor.
Uppsala University Hospital and Uppsala University in Sweden have recently completed the first installation of a Signa PET/MR system in Northern Europe, and research projects within oncological, neurological, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases are already planned.
The University Hospital of Umeå in Northern Sweden is currently installing a Signa PET/MR unit, and hopes to support more individualized and efficient cancer treatment and cancer research, GE said.
