Carestream Health will be providing a cloud-based teleconsultation portal to the Instituto Giannina Gaslini Children's Hospital in Genoa, Italy, which will use the technology to perform pediatric telemedicine services for the MSC Cruises cruise line.
The institute will provide remote diagnosis, second opinions, patient monitoring, and referrals for every member of the cruise line's fleet, according to Carestream. The teleconsultation portal is based on Carestream's Vue vendor-neutral archive and Vue Motion viewer, allowing for capture and viewing of different file formats with a zero-footprint platform, the vendor said. Satellite communications will be used to link the institute with all MSC cruise ships around the world.
