PACS firm Sectra announced that its OneScreen, an online service to assess bone health, is being used for the first time at a private Danish hospital.
Denmark's Nørmark Private Hospital, located outside Copenhagen, will become the first clinic in the country to offer osteoporosis assessments to identify patients requiring further examination, Sectra said. The initiative is to reduce the number of osteoporosis fractures.
Sectra's method allows patients to be examined for osteoporosis using an x-ray image of the hand. These images can be acquired in conjunction with breast images in a mammography exam using the same radiology equipment. The images can also be taken using other radiology equipment, meaning there is no need for new hardware.
