Radiation oncology firm Accuray has announced that the European CyberKnife Center Munich-Großhadern has performed 5,000 CyberKnife treatments since June 2005.
The center uses a CyberKnife M6 system, which allows patients to receive enhanced stereotactic radiosurgery/stereotactic body radiation therapy (SRS/SBRT) so tumors are treated noninvasively with high doses of radiation.
The European CyberKnife Center, in partnership with the University Hospital of Munich-Großhadern, has almost 10 years of experience with the technology.
