The U.K. Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) has launched a free tool to support clinical oncologists with their continuing professional development in radiotherapy planning, the college said.
COAST is a new application that clinical oncologists can use to practice contouring skills for intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). The application offers simple tools for reviewing images and contouring as well as examples of images, margin growing, and PET/MRI fusion. The program evaluates the user's contouring skill and produces a summary and comparison to a gold standard example, according to the RCR.
The tool is now available to RCR fellows and members on the RCR website.
