Healthcare information systems firm Cerner has signed a strategic collaboration with King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to provide electronic health record (EHR) systems for two of its hospitals.
The hospitals are 950-bed King Khalid University Hospital and 200-bed King Abdulaziz University Hospital. Over a period of 12 months to 18 months, both academic hospitals will integrate approximately 30 Cerner software solutions, with the company's EHR serving as the foundation of the implementation.
The contract was executed between King Saud University and Saudi Health Information Systems. This is a joint venture among Cerner Middle East, Riyadh Valley Company, and the Zamil Group that was created to focus on EHR sales within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
