Philips partners with new hospital in Jordan

Royal Philips Electronics, parent company of Philips Healthcare, announced that it will be providing imaging equipment, healthcare informatics and services, and a suite of 20 Ambient room environments to a new hospital of the Farah Medical Complex in Jordan.

The agreement, made through Al Faisaliah Medical Systems, Philips' distributor in Jordan, includes the sale of 15 advanced imaging systems. These include a MR high-intensity focused ultrasound (MR-HIFU) system, a Digital Diagnost r3.0, and a mobile Diagnost wDR, all of which represent the first such systems to be installed in a hospital in the Middle East.

Philips will also be providing training for the staff of the Farah Medical Complex, which is scheduled to open in 2013 and will also be the first Leadership in Energy Efficiency and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified hospital in Jordan. Philips LED lighting will be used in the entryways, corridors, and patients' rooms. The hospital's façade will be lit with Philips' PowerCore low-energy white light.
