Agfa HealthCare has announced that it plans to launch a noninvasive, high-definition optical coherence tomography device at the upcoming annual meeting of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) in Prague.
The device, Skintell HD-OCT, visualizes skin layers up to 1 mm in depth, and offers three viewing modes: slice (which is like a B-scan), 3D and en face, which gives a parallel perspective to the skin, in real time.
Skintell is CE marked as a medical device. It is not yet available in Canada or the U.S., Agfa said.
