Global revenues for ultrasound equipment are forecast to grow by 29% over the next five years, according to new research by InMedica.
Particularly strong growth is anticipated in the Asia-Pacific region, with revenues projected to increase by 43%, compared to only 15% for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and 26% for the American regions.
In emerging markets, such as India, China, and some areas of Southeast Asia, there exists a great need to improve the standard and access of healthcare services, according to the authors. This is driving strong demand for medical devices, including ultrasound equipment. Also, growth in many mature ultrasound markets in this region, such as Oceania, Taiwan, and Korea, is fueled by demand for advanced imaging technology and the growing use of ultrasound for procedural guidance.
