Compact Imaging has signed a two-year collaboration with National University of Ireland Galway and University of Limerick to further develop its optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology, the company announced.
OCT is an imaging technique similar to ultrasound but that uses light rather than sound. The project will combine National University of Ireland Galway's OCT research in medical and biological imaging with Compact Imaging's development and intellectual property in the area of multiple-reference OCT, with a focus on the company's multiple-reference OCT architecture, according to the firm.
