- Choose the appropriate patient initially.
- Teach the patient breathing instructions, and practice beforehand.
- Ideal heart rate is between 60 and 65 beats per minute.
- Use a large green cannula in the right antecubital fossa.
- Choose the most appropriate gating technique for the likelihood of diagnostic success of the single phase.
- Use a dual-phase contrast injection protocol with a saline flush, timed using a test bolus method.
- Use a medium to smooth kernel to reconstruct, unless there is evidence of calcium or stent, in which case use a medium to sharp kernel.
- Edit ECG appropriately if necessary.
