Despite a strong performance from its computed radiography product line, Agfa HealthCare of Mortsel, Belgium, reported only a 0.3% advance in revenues in the second quarter of 2010.
For the quarter (end-June 30), the healthcare business unit of Agfa-Gevaert reported revenue of 296 million euros ($375.9 million U.S.), compared with 295 million euros ($374.6 million) in the second quarter of 2009.
Agfa HealthCare also noted that as a result of improved service efficiency in IT and manufacturing capacity, the business group's gross profit margin improved from 39% in the second quarter of 2009 to 42% in the second quarter of 2010.
Agfa HealthCare's recurring earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) totaled 48.1 million euros ($60.7 million U.S.), or 16% of revenue.
