Dutch industrial conglomerate Royal Philips Electronics said it has launched an effort to extend healthcare education in Europe, Asia, and the South Pacific.
The company, the parent of Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, is collaborating with the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) on the International Access to Learning (IAL) program. The program's first phase will be piloted in Estonia, Fiji, and India; participants will choose from a catalog of more than 300 accredited business and clinical courses.
The courses will begin in the first quarter of 2008, and will be free for members of ISRRT societies that can access program guidelines and registration via the ISRRT Web site. Later phases of the program will assess the success of this initial phase, according to Philips.
