Despite double-digit sales growth, continued expansion of its distribution channels and an increase in mammography device production capacity hampered profit margins for Swedish PACS and digital mammography vendor Sectra in its recently concluded fiscal year (end-April 30).
For the year, net sales increased by 16% to 863.3 million kronor ($114 million), compared with 742.9 million kronor ($99.6 million) in the previous fiscal year. The Linköping-based vendor's profit slipped to 71.4 million kronor ($9.5 million), compared with 79.8 million kronor ($10.6 million) in the last fiscal year.
In the fourth quarter, net sales rose 17% to 263.7 million kronor ($35 million), compared with 224.5 million kronor ($29.8 million) in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year. Profit declined to 7.4 million kronor ($980,000), down from 42.3 million kronor ($5.6 million) in the same quarter a year ago.
