Siemens wins first U.K. MRI scanner orders

Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA, has booked its first U.K. orders for its Magnetom Aera 1.5-tesla and Magnetom Skyra 3-tesla MRI systems.

The orders come from Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester, Guy's Hospital in London, Kidderminster Hospital in Worcestershire, and Royal Brompton Hospital in London.

Aera and Skyra feature Siemens' Total imaging matrix (Tim) and Day optimizing throughput (DOT) technologies. Both have a 70-cm bore design, according to Siemens.
