Philips Healthcare has begun international shipments of its CX50 CompactXtreme compact ultrasound system.
Launched in 2008, CX50 CompactXtreme can handle a range of applications, including radiology, vascular, women's health, emergency medicine, regional anesthesia, and critical care imaging, according to the Andover, MA-based firm. It includes Philips' PureWave transducers, SonoCT image compounding technology, XRES adaptive image processing, and SmartExam system-guided protocols.
The unit is available in many countries in Europe and Asia, including the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, and India. North American release is scheduled for the third quarter, Philips said.
