Sectra sales, profit up in Q2

Earnings generated from a few large-scale projects contributed to fiscal first-quarter revenue and profit gains for Swedish PACS and digital mammography developer Sectra.

For the period (end-July 31), the Linköping-based vendor had net sales in its Medical Systems division of 174.3 million Swedish kronor ($24.9 million U.S.), up 13% compared with the 152.6 million kronor ($21.8 million U.S.) reported in the first quarter last year. The unit had operating profit of 4.5 million kronor ($640,000 U.S.), up from 300,000 kronor ($43,000 U.S.) a year ago.

Sales gains occurred primarily due to earnings being realized from a few large, multiyear projects that Sectra had previously secured, the company said.
