Ultrasound technology developer Misonix has restructured its European sales organization, creating two business units.
One unit will handle sales and service for the company's Sonablate 500 high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) system, while the other unit will be responsible for its SonaStar ultrasonic surgical aspirator, BoneScalpel ultrasonic bone cutting system, and the SonicOne ultrasonic wound cleansing and debridement system, according to the Farmingdale, NY-based vendor.
Headed by Nick Stevens, the Misonix HIFU Technologies business unit will focus on a fee-for-use business model, which will feature a combination of mobile services delivered directly to hospitals and centers of excellence to which qualified patients can be referred, according to the company. The firm's UKHIFU and Misonix France business units will be integrated into Misonix HIFU Technologies and overseen by the same management team.
