A group of Dutch societies led by the Radiological Society of the Netherlands has published part 2 of its multidisciplinary guidelines for the safe use of contrast media.
Part 2 comprises four topics:
- Hypersensitivity reactions after contrast media administration
- Safe use of gadolinium-containing contrast media
- Safe injection of contrast media through central catheters and ports
- Contrast media extravasation
All major scientific societies participated in the production of these guidelines, according to the Radiological Society of the Netherlands. The guidelines are available on the society's website.
With the European Medicines Agency now based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands has become a key country for pharma regulations.
