Samsung Electronics has introduced new digital radiography (DR) systems at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) this week.
Both the XGEO CG80 and the XGEO GU60 are equipped with a highly sensitive detector and a proprietary image processing algorithm that enables exams to be performed with a low radiation dose, the company said.
XGEO CG80 is a high-performance system designed for use by academic and large hospitals. A low-dose radiograph can be acquired in 4.7 seconds. The system incorporates robotic arm technology called a soft-handling function, and it includes fully automated functions such as autoparking and autoposition to facilitate workflow. XGEO CG80 has received CE Mark approval.
The more compact and economically priced XGEO GU60 is being shown as a work-in-progress. It is designed for use in small- to midsized hospitals.
