Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems is showcasing its PaxPower x-ray tubes and PaxScan digital image detectors for fluoroscopy, angiography, cardiology, and conebeam CT imaging at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR).
The PaxPower FP 2250 x-ray tube with high-temperature heat dissipation has been optimized for high-throughput interventional procedures on systems including portable surgical CT scanners, the firm said.
Among the digital image detectors being demonstrated, the midsized PaxScan 1515DX uses Varian's new DX technology, a proprietary sixth generation architecture. It offers increased frame rates, improved low-dose imaging, and 16-bit data acquisition, and it is suitable for use in mini C-arm applications.
