Dell has announced that it will be offering its Unified Clinical Archiving (UCA) cloud-based archiving product in the spring to hospitals in the U.K. and in the summer months of 2012 to French and German hospitals.
The rollout of this service is timed in conjunction with the completion of Dell's new data center located in Slough, U.K.
The UCA is an integrated object-based storage platform that eliminates the need to have application-specific data silos. All data can be archived in one neutral, secure, efficient, intelligent, and scalable platform. This includes images from disparate PACS, as well as those produced by endoscopy, surgery, and digital pathology.
The cloud-based image archive operations has recently ISO-13485 certification, according to the company.
Dell will demonstrate the UCA service at the forthcoming European Congress of Radiology in Vienna in booth 550 of Expo Hall E.
