Women's imaging vendor Hologic plans to launch four new products at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna next month.
For its Selenia Dimensions digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) system, Hologic will show C-View synthesized 2D images and ImageChecker 3D Calc computer-aided detection (CAD) application.
The C-View image reconstruction algorithm is designed to create synthesized 2D images from Selenia Dimensions tomosynthesis datasets, and eliminate the need for separate 2D exposures. C-View also provides a 2D image without requiring a separate 2D exposure to reduce both compression time and dose.
The ImageChecker 3D Calc CAD application uses sophisticated algorithms to search tomosynthesis datasets for microcalcifications potentially associated with breast cancer.
Hologic's new work-in-progress InSight-FC mini C-arm features a new design with a forward tube source for enhanced flexibility, acquisition times, and productivity with greater patient throughput.
In addition, Hologic will show its new Trident specimen radiography system, designed for surgical specimen and core biopsy imaging needs.
