Radiation oncology vendor Varian Medical Systems will be supplying several U.K. hospitals with treatment machines and simulators under Wave 9 of the U.K. government's cancer treatment capital investment program.
The Palo Alto, CA-based firm will be installing its Clinac iX series accelerators at radiotherapy centers in Royal Free (London), Ipswich, and Maidstone. These machines will be equipped with the company's On-Board Imager device for image-guided radiotherapy, according to the vendor.
Varian will also be equipping a new radiotherapy center at Chelmsford in Essex with a complete suite of Varian radiotherapy products, including a Clinac iX, Aria information and image management system, and Eclipse treatment-planning software.
In addition, Varian will be installing its Acuity x-ray imaging device at centers in Mount Vernon (London), Exeter, Carlisle, Lincoln, and Stoke.
