PACS accessories firm PACSGear has incorporated encryption technology into its MediaWriter D200 CD/DVD burning system.
The new feature allows MediaWriter D200 to create password-protected media to protect medical images while in transit, according to the Pleasanton, CA-based vendor. PACSGear said it has also included a Web-based interface with local user authentication and an audit log.
The vendor will showcase the new capability at this week's European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna.
