The RSNA plans to launch a new Global Learning Centers (GLC) program in 2020 to improve radiology education around the world.

The program will partner with radiology departments in low- or middle-income countries to create learning centers that will offer radiology education. A team of RSNA members will work with each new center over the course of three years to develop an educational plan that includes hands-on training, lectures, conferences, and online courses. One new learning center will be selected each year, the RSNA said.

To be considered for the program, applicant institutions must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a university or hospital
  • Be located in countries eligible to receive discounted RSNA dues
  • Demonstrate a need for radiology education and resources
  • Have an established radiology department staffed with at least one radiologist
  • Have a team lead with English fluency who will serve as a primary contact

Interested institutions can apply online until November 1, 2019, to be a global learning center in 2020. The RSNA's Committee for International Radiology Education will review applications and communicate results in December 2019.
