Hospitals in New Zealand are rescheduling some elective surgeries and appointments ahead of a strike by radiographers that is planned for 29 October to 4 November, according to a recent article from New Zealand news website Stuff.
The strike, led by medical imaging technologist union Apex, comes as a result of failed bargaining talks over salaries between district health boards and radiographers in the country, the article noted. Roughly 11,000 radiographers are expected to participate.
Several hospitals in the area said they will have a limited capacity to provide x-ray services during the strike.
