The European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) said they will be strengthening their cooperation for the International Day of Radiology (IDoR) on 8 November.
While the EFRS has been a participating society in the IDoR from the beginning, the EFRS was asked this year to nominate experts to contribute to a book the ESR is producing on the main theme for 2015: pediatric imaging. Ronald Booij, a radiographer at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has co-authored a chapter on CT in pediatric imaging along with a radiologist from the same department. In addition, the book will also include an interview by the ESR PR and media department with EFRS board member Vasilis Syrgiamiotis of the General Children's Hospital in Athens on his views on and experience of working with children in an imaging department, the ESR said.
In addition, the EFRS said it will take on a more active role this year in promoting the IDoR and encouraging its members to celebrate together with their colleagues all over the world.
