The European Society of Radiology (ESR) has announced Prof. Michael Fuchsjäger and Prof. Carlo Catalano have been elected to two important positions within the organization.
Fuchsjäger, a professor of radiology and chairman of the department of radiology at the Medical University Graz in Austria, was elected as ESR second vice president. Catalano, professor and chairman of the department of radiology at Sapienza University of Rome, was elected as chair of ESR's education committee.
In November 2017, the ESR's executive council had nominated three candidates for the position of the second vice president and three candidates for the position of chair of the education committee.
A record total of 4,598 votes were cast in the election, which represents 15% of ESR's voting membership.
