The European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR) has published an obituary on Slovenian radiologist Dr. Vladimir Jevtič, who passed away earlier this year.
Jevtič (1944-2015) held many positions during his long tenure at the University Medical Center Ljubljana, including head of musculoskeletal radiology and head of the Clinical Radiology Institute. He was also a full professor of radiology in the Ljubljana Medical Faculty from 2000 until 2010, when he moved to the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ljubljana University in a role incorporating radiological technology.
Outside of Slovenia, Jevtič was one of the founders of the European Society of Skeletal Radiology in 1993, and later became its president in 1998. He was also an honorary member of the Austrian and Bosnian Radiological Societies, as well as a select member of the International Skeletal Society, according to the ESSR.
"The world has lost a wonderful man, a true and much loved friend, and a gifted radiologist," the ESSR said.
