To service the educational needs of its growing membership in South America, the European Society of Radiology (ESR) has opened a teaching center in Bogotá, Colombia.
The new office is located in a rented building near the city center. It already has two members of staff, and will serve the entire continent. The first training course will be held at the facility in August 2015, and there are also plans to translate some ESR publications into Spanish, in addition to an already existing translation project of abstracts from European Radiology (access here).
As of August 2014, around 16.5% of the ESR's 62,085 members were from South America. The ESR established its first teaching center in Barcelona, Spain, and also plans to open new facilities in Vienna and in a location to the East of Europe.
